Moar Costume!

After running around in my under tunic last night, I got really happy and felt one of the biggest sense of pride I've felt in a long time. Even though my measuring was a touch off and I *COMPLETELY FORGOT TO ALLOT FOR SEAM ALLOWANCE*, I'm still too proud of it, even in its pinned together stage. Today I started cutting the white piece for the upper tunic, which I'm hoping will be ok. The main measurement I use to base all the percentages off comes from my waist, and on the under tunic, the thing doesn't fit all the way around my body right. Partially because of the boobs and my slightly off cutting. Well that's ok since it just sits under shit and no one's gonna really see it.

So when I got to the upper tunic, I figured, well this is gonna be sitting on top of the under tunic AND a shirt, so I might as well make it a few inches wider and hope to God it works out :P AND THIS TIME I ALLOTTED FOR SEAM ALLOWANCE! The hardest part is just figuring out the math involved in the pattern really... now I have to figure out the hood, and there are *NO NUMBERS* for that. Seriously. It's all estimations and I have general shapes to work with. BUT! I'm gonna be a badass and sew combs onto the red layer of the hood so the hood will stay on my head :) YAY GUARD for giving me that idea!

So my current agenda before I take my sewing machine in to get it fixed is: Cut the red fabric for the upper tunic, cut the shoulder pieces, figure out the hood, and go find some pretty gold trim and get to work painting the lapel of the under tunic. EZIO, Y U NO HAVE SIMPLE COSTUME?! Once I get the tunics done and sewed, I'll be happy as a clam. And I found my brown dance shorts and ordered the shirt, so I'm halfway done! Then after that, I'll work on the sash (Which is gonna be easy anyways), and then... tackle the cape and pauldron. Last comes the sculpting of the belt buckle and figuring out all the belts that cross the body and how to attach them. And then the damn vambrace and the boot covers. And then make the necklace. HOLY SHIT, LOTTA WORK.

I will dream of sewing and Italians tonight. Oooooh, Anette posted this on her blog saying she did vocals in it. I was sad to see she wasn't in the music video, but she sounds amazing and although I've never heard of the band, I really dig this!
